Rockstar Games is giving current Grand Theft Auto 5 players something to look forward to while they wait for Grand Theft Auto 6, which is still months away. The company announced that GTA 5 owners can upgrade to the newer version of the game for free. This includes the new visual effects, increased speed, and more game content that had been provided with an earlier update. This is in preparation for what comes next in the series. Those who upgrade can also carry over their game progress, making the transition to the latest version much easier and smoother.
Rockstar has confirmed that players who own GTA 5 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One can now upgrade to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions of the game for free. Earlier, this upgrade required a separate payment of $10.
PC players can also move from the older Legacy version to the Enhanced version. The newer PC edition includes better graphics, ray tracing support, SSD optimisation, improved audio and support for the DualSense controller.
Apart from visual improvements, players will gain access to features such as Hao’s Special Works, which offers performance upgrades for vehicles, along with Career Progress rewards and other gameplay additions.
