The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which was launched more than a decade ago, is getting a remaster and the gaming community could not be more excited. Set to arrive on September 29, the remaster will take us to Geralt’s world one more time. Ever since the game has been announced, it has been making headlines. And now, it is being talked about once again because CD Projekt Red has just revealed minimum and recommended hardware requirements to run the upcoming title. If you have been playing The Witcher 3 on an older PC, this update could decide whether your system is ready for Geralt’s return. So, without further ado, here is what your PC will need to run The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered.

If you want to play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered on PC, you will need an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, along with 12GB of RAM and 70GB of SSD storage. These requirements are higher than the original game’s minimum specifications, which called for an Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD A10-5800K.
The graphics card requirement has also seen a big jump. The remastered version requires an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 6GB, AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT or Intel Arc A580 at minimum. For comparison, the original game could run with a GTX 660 or Radeon HD 7870.
The recommended hardware has also moved up. CD Projekt Red suggests an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, paired with 16GB of RAM. For graphics, the recommended options are Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super, AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT or Intel Arc B580.
So, while the remaster does not demand an ultra-expensive gaming PC, owners of older systems may need to upgrade before jumping back into Geralt’s world. That means players who have run the original for years could find their PCs falling short this time. So before September 29 arrives, it is worth checking your hardware.
The remastered version will launch on September 29, bringing the beloved RPG to newer hardware with a range of visual and gameplay improvements.
Players who already own The Witcher 3 on PC, PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S will receive the remastered version as a free upgrade. It will also launch on Nintendo Switch 2 and Battle.net on the same day.
The biggest changes are expected on the visual side, with upgraded textures, improved lighting and ray tracing. CD Projekt Red is also changing parts of the combat system, improving the UI and introducing a revamped skill tree. There will also be an expanded photo mode and new finishing moves.
The original game remains one of CD Projekt Red’s most popular releases, so the remaster is an interesting chance to revisit Geralt’s journey on modern hardware. For players who have spent hundreds of hours in the original, the free upgrade could be an easy excuse to return to the Continent once more.
