Ever since the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, the makers have managed to fix one of the biggest issues of the previous model. I’m talking about the performance aspect, as the original console was heavily underpowered, which made it tough for third-party developers to release their games. But ever since the Switch 2 launched, thanks to the upgraded CPU and GPU, plenty of third-party games have been released for the device. Well, it looks like even Capcom is joining the party, as the latest leaks suggest a bunch of their Resident Evil remakes could be released on the console. Without wasting much time, let’s have a look at them!

As per the popular leaker, NateTheHate2, Capcom is getting ready to release the modern Resident Evil remakes on the Nintendo Switch 2. The list includes the fan-favourites Resident Evil 2 remake, along with that, the report also states that Resident Evil 3 remake, and the latest in the franchise, Resident Evil 4 remake, would also be available on the console.
Speaking of the release timeline, while we don’t have the exact date yet, it is expected that the remakes will hit the console this year itself. The latest game in the franchise, Resident Evil: Requiem, is all set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on February 27th. Along with the latest entry, the gold editions of Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village are also set to be released on the same day.
In case you didn’t know, the new remakes will not be the first time the Resident Evil franchise hits the hybrid console. Previously, the original Switch saw the release of games like Resident Evil Zero, Resident Evil, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 5, and Resident Evil 6.
Heck, even Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes, along with Biohazard and Village, were also available on the original console before; however, there was a catch, which was that they were the cloud versions of the game. Meaning, they didn’t run natively on the device, but instead, they were only available to stream. Many complained that this didn’t provide the best experience, so it’s good to see we’re finally getting the native versions on the Switch 2.
