The story takes a leap forward into the 1940s as the chaos of World War II grips England. Tommy Shelby has been living in isolation, trying to distance himself from the violent life he once led. But his peace doesn’t last long because of his past. When his son, Duke Shelby, gets involved in a dangerous Nazi plan, Tommy has to come out of hiding. He returns to a troubled Birmingham to protect his family and what he has built. The film explores Tommy’s struggle to face his past demons while navigating a world filled with spies and rising fascist threats.

The movie brings back several familiar faces while adding massive star power to the mix. Cillian Murphy returns to his iconic role as Thomas Shelby.
