Obsession is a psychological horror film and has become a fan favourite since its release. The narrative centres on Bear, a lonely music store employee who harbours a deep, unrequited crush on his friend and coworker, Nikki. Desperate to win her heart, Bear visits a quirky shop and purchases a supernatural toy known as the One Wish Willow. Though the store clerk warns that the object carries deadly consequences, Bear makes a wish for Nikki to fall deeply in love with him.
The magic works immediately, but Nikki transforms into a frighteningly dependent and unstable partner. Her affection quickly devolves into terrifying behaviour and madness, forcing Bear to face the horrific reality of his forced desire.

The indie horror film relies heavily on its talented cast to build tension without traditional monster jump scares. The lead role in the movie is played by Michael Johnston as Bear, who brings out the intense desperation and regret of his character.
The role of Nikki is taken up by Inde Navarrette, whose performance takes on an extremely terrifying turn as she changes from being a friendly girl to an insane lover. Other characters in the film include Cooper Tomlinson as Ian and Megan Lawless as Sarah, who are friends of the couple.
