Awarapan 2 hit theatres on August 14, 2026, just ahead of Independence Day. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the movie is a sequel to the 2007 film of the same name. It stars Emraan Hashmi, Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi and Suvinder Vicky in important roles. While the film is currently playing on the big screen, people are already waiting for its OTT release. Awarapan 2 is expected to arrive on an OTT platform around late September or October 2026. The movie is reportedly set to stream on Amazon Prime Video after its theatrical run. Do note that neither the filmmakers or the platform have confirmed these details yet.

The story centres on Shivam Pandit, played by Emraan Hashmi. He is a retired gangster who has left his violent past behind. However, Shivam is forced to return to the criminal world in Thailand when a group of children is abducted. Among them is an infant whom he names Aaliyah after his late love.

Reports suggest that Awarapan 2 was made on a budget of around Rs 45 crore. The film reportedly earned between Rs 21 crore and Rs 23.40 crore net in India on its opening day.
The movie is also competing with Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947, which was released during the same weekend. The film reportedly earned Rs 5.75 crore net on its first day. Batwara 1947 features Sunny Deol, Preity G Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Isha Sandhir, Aamir Khan, Abhimanyu Singh, Ali Fazal, Vicky Kaushal and Kanikka Kapur in key roles.
