Sennheiser, one of the leading makers of professional-grade headphones, has launched its HD 480 Pro in the Indian market. These new pairs are their latest flagship closed-back headphones for professional audio use. The company is aiming the latest headphones at recording engineers, producers, mix engineers, and live sound professionals who require accurate monitoring in environments where sound isolation is essential. The Sennheiser HD 480 Pro is a closed, circumaural, dynamic headphone weighing just 272 g without the cable. The headphones feature a 38 mm dynamic driver with ultralight voice coils, which the company says delivers a tight and honest low-end.
In terms of comfort, the HD 480 Pro comes with Sennheiser’s Special Axes Geometry, which automatically adapts the headphone’s contact pressure to different head shapes for a consistent fit. Along with that, the earpads also feature a dedicated soft zone for glasses wearers, ensuring a proper acoustic seal without discomfort. Near the earcup, the connection cable features a coiled part, which effectively decouples the headphones from any structure-borne or handling noise, such as that transmitted when the cable hits the desk.
There’s also support for a vibration attenuation system that eliminates unwanted resonances, reflections, and distortion to keep the signal clean and accurate. Additionally, a coiled section on the cable near the earcup decouples the headphones from cable-borne and handling noise. For flexibility, the headphones feature a detachable cable that can be routed on either the left or right side. To ensure accessibility, the left and right earcups are Braille-marked.
Coming to the pricing of the latest HD 480 Pro, Sennheiser has announced that these new headphones will be available in India at Rs 43,999. The headphones come bundled with a carrying bag along with them. Further optional accessories include replacement earpads, 1.8 m and 3 m straight cables, a balanced cable, and additional carry cases. If you need a hard travel case instead of the regular carrying bag, you can opt for the HD 480 Pro Plus, which has been priced at Rs 47,999.
