OpenAI has introduced a new study mode in ChatGPT. Students across the world already use ChatGPT for solving difficult homework problems, studying for exams, or exploring new subjects. But simply getting the answer isn’t always the best way to learn. That’s where study mode comes in as it guides users through problems step by step, helping them understand the concept instead of just finishing an assignment.
The new feature is now available to all logged-in users across Free, Plus, Pro, and Team plans. It will also roll out to ChatGPT Edu in the coming weeks.
Study mode is designed to encourage deep learning by making conversations more interactive. Study mode is built with learning science in mind. It was developed in partnership with teachers, scientists, and pedagogy experts. The goal is to make sure students not only get help but also truly learn the topic.

OpenAI plans to add more features to the study mode like progress tracking, clearer visualisations for complex concepts, and better personalisation.
To try the new mode, just select ‘Study and learn’ from the tools in ChatGPT and ask a question.
