Google Photos is becoming more than just a storage space for your pictures, it’s turning into a creative space that lets you do a lot more with your memories. The latest update introduces new AI-powered features designed to help users get more creative with their photos. With the new tools, you can turn your still pictures into short videos, and even transform them into animated illustrations, sketches or 3D-style art.
Here’s what’s new in Google Photos.
One of the most exciting updates is the new photo-to-video feature in Google Photos. This AI-powered feature can turn your still images into short, six-second video clips. To use it, simply pick a photo and choose from prompts “Subtle movements” or “I’m feeling lucky.” The tool then creates a video clip that you can easily share with others. This feature is currently rolling out in the US on Android and iOS.

Another fun addition is the Remix tool, which allows you to turn your photos into different art styles like anime, comic book characters, sketches, or 3D animations. You just have to select a photo and pick the style you like. Remix will be available in the US on Android and iOS in the coming weeks.
To make things easier, Google is also launching a new Create tab in the Google Photos app. This tab will have all creative tools like Photo to video, Remix, collages and highlight videos. The tab aims to help users easily access the tools. The Create tab will start rolling out in August.
