Voice AI company ElevenLabs has launched a new mobile app for Android and iOS that allows users to convert text into speech in just a few taps. Whether you’re a content creator working on a video, a marketer making voice overs or just someone who enjoys experimenting with AI tools, this app brings the power of ElevenLabs’ voice technology straight to your smartphone.

Until now, users had to access ElevenLabs through a web browser to create voice clips using its AI-powered voice models. Keep reading to know all the details of the new app.

How the app works and how to use it

Using the app is simple. Just type or paste the text you want to convert, pick a voice from the available options and generate an audio clip. You can choose from different voice models to balance cost and quality. Free users get about 10 minutes of audio generation. Also, the credit system is shared across the mobile and web apps.

One standout feature is support for ElevenLabs’ new v3 alpha voice model, which allows users to control expressions with tags.

Why the mobile app?

Jack McDermott, ElevenLabs’ mobile growth lead, explained the reason behind launching a mobile app. McDermott told TechCrunch, “Over the past year, we’ve seen an explosion of creativity from our community — content creators, marketers, educators, voice artists, and professionals using ElevenLabs to bring projects to life. Many have accessed ElevenLabs from mobile web browsers and asked for a faster, intuitive, more powerful experience built natively for mobile.”

He also stated that many creators already use ElevenLabs alongside editing apps like CapCut, Instagram and InShot. Noticing this demand, the company decided to create a native experience.

In the future, ElevenLabs plans to add features like speech-to-text, a conversational AI agent tool and more.
