UIDAI soon rule with photo, QR code Aadhaar card offline verification
If you need to update your Aadhaar details but have been delaying it, now is the time to do it, as the free services may end soon. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will be offering free Aadhaar updates until June 14, 2025, only. After that, a nominal fee of Rs 50 will be applied. Users can update their details at the myAadhaar portal from the comfort of their homes. According to the Aadhaar Enrolment and Update regulations, 2016, it is mandatory to update your Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA) on Aadhaar every 10 years.

Users can only update selected demographic details online for free. They can update their name, date of birth (under certain limits), address, gender, and language preferences for free without having to visit the physical centres.
However, biometric details like fingerprints, iris scans, and photographs can only be updated by visiting the Aadhaar update centres. Users can even find their nearest update centres by entering their area PIN code on the UIDAI website.
