Forza Horizon 6 launches today: 5 fun things you can do apart from racing

Today is the day. Millions of Forza Horizon fans across the world are busy celebrating the launch of perhaps their most awaited title of the year – Forza Horizon 6. The game is now available for all players after spending a week in early access for those who purchased the Premium Edition. Now this is mainly a racing game. You climb the ranks by entering races and earn your place in the Horizon Festival.

But, if you’re someone who likes to experience all that the game has to offer and want to try out different things, here’s some good news. There are a lot of side activities you can indulge in while playing Forza Horizon 6 and this is why the game feels bigger than other pure-racing titles. So, without further ado, here are some of the coolest things you can do in Forza Horizon 6 other than racing.

1. Take some stunning photos with the photo mode

The photo mode has been a part of Forza Horizon games for years. But this time, the game’s setting is Japan and that means some never-seen-before picturesque locations. The streets of Tokyo at night, snowcapped mountains, shrines, gardens full of cherry blossom trees, and lots more. The game throws many photo opportunities at you and all you need to do is launch photo mode with a button to take advantage.

And if you’re a photographer, you can click some next-level pictures by adjusting the shutter speed, focus, brightness, and so on. The photo mode also lets you adjust the time of day, camera angles, weather, filters, and so on.

    2. Explore scenic routes with Auto drive feature

This is one of the best features in the game and I also feel it was long overdue. After all, what is the point of making the game beautiful and detailed if we’re going to just drive past most locations at a speed of 100 mph?

Thanks to the auto drive feature, you can kick back and relax as the car drives across locations on its own. All you need to do is set a destination, and enable auto-drive by asking your in-game AI assistant.

In all honesty, these are the moments when Horizon 6 almost stops feeling like a racing game and starts feeling like a virtual road trip simulator.

    3. Use the drone mode

Drone mode is another way that lets you leave your cars behind and freely hover around the map. And well, this is one of the best ways to truly appreciate the scale and detail of Forza Horizon 6’s version of Japan. You can hover around the various streets where you can’t take your car, explore hidden shrines, or simply enjoy sunset views across coastal highways.

The feature also makes the world feel far more immersive because it lets you observe the atmosphere from completely different angles instead of always being behind a steering wheel.

    4. Build and decorate your own estate

Forza Horizon 6 introduces a new feature where you can customise your estates in greater detail.

This means that instead of simply unlocking houses and new properties like previous games, you can now decorate interiors, showcase favourite cars, place collectibles, and personalise things in your estate. It gives players more freedom to create their own dream space. But not all homes can be customised, only Estates which are special lots have this feature available. Nevertheless it does add a personal touch to the game.

    5. Deliver food across Japan

Yes, Horizon 6 actually includes food delivery jobs. And this not only sounds super fun, but actually is. You can now take on food delivery missions where you will get to drive (suprise, surprise), a food truck! Imagine racing through the streets of Tokyo just to get someone’s ramen in time. Exciting, right?

Not only are these missions super fun, they also help the world feel more alive and grounded. Instead of always acting like a festival superstar, you can sometimes feel like an ordinary driver, navigating through everyday Japanese life.
