Realme 15 review: Big battery, bold claims, but is it worth Rs 25,999?

Updated on 26-Aug-2025

I have been using the Realme 15 for almost four weeks, and on paper, it looks like a strong package. It comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300+ chip, a massive 7000mAh battery, a 50MP main camera, and a 144Hz AMOLED display. All of that sounds solid for a phone priced at Rs 25,999.

But Realme is marketing this device as an “AI Party Phone.” The focus here is on AI features that brighten low-light party shots and offer creative effects. It sounds fun, but it also made me wonder, what about those who’re not into parties at all?

After weeks of daily use and testing, I’m gonna break down the Realme 15’s design, display, performance, cameras and battery in this review, to see if it really works as a well-rounded device or if it leans too heavily on a gimmick.

Realme 15 review: Design

The Realme 15 tries to make its design stand out with a curved display. The curves do make the phone feel more premium in hand, and the slim 7.96mm profile with a weight of 187 grams adds to its comfort. The Velvet Green variant I received is subtle and looks more polished than some of the louder green finishes I’ve seen recently. The leather-textured back not only looks elegant but also keeps fingerprints away.

Realme has also experimented with new design elements. The Pulse Light on the back adds flair by glowing for notifications, GT mode, and the camera. While not everyone will find it essential, it does give the device a distinct identity. On the other hand, the third camera ring is purely aesthetic. It may add symmetry to the module, but some might see it as unnecessary since it doesn’t serve a functional purpose.

Realme 15 Pro review: Display

The Realme 15 comes with a 6.8-inch AMOLED display that aims to impress. The display is sharp, vibrant and has the kind of punch that makes watching videos or scrolling through social media enjoyable.

I used Calman and the SpectraCal C6 Colourimeter to test the display’s colour accuracy. The Realme 15 achieved an average Delta E of 1.6 in the professional colour profile, which means that the display offers accurate colours while watching content online. The phone is well-equipped to display a wide range of colours, with gamut coverage of 96.7% in the sRGB colour space. So, whether you’re watching YouTube or enjoying your favourite shows, the viewing experience is smooth and immersive.

Brightness levels are equally impressive. With a peak of 3190 nits in auto mode, the display remains easy to read in direct sunlight and never feels dim. The 144Hz refresh rate adds to the overall smoothness.

Realme 15 review: Performance

This is the area where the Realme 15 feels a bit weak. It uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300+ chip, which sounds capable, but in tests, it did not perform as well as other phones in the same price range. On AnTuTu, it scored 7,43,540, while phones like the OnePlus Nord CE 5 and Infinix GT 30 scored over a million. In Geekbench, it scored 1,018 for single core and 2898 for multi core, which also falls short.

For gaming, the phone supports 90FPS. The gameplay is smooth and doesn’t lag, but at this price, some phones offer 120FPS.

Realme is marketing the Realme 15 as an AI Party Phone, focusing on AI features. One of them is AI Party Mode, which adjusts photos based on different scenes and also improves low-light shots so they look brighter and more natural. There are also fun lighting effects that can turn background lights into shapes like stars or hearts. These tools add some creativity, even if they don’t cater to everyone.

Realme 15 review: Camera

The Realme 15 is not built for raw performance, but it does a good job in the camera department. It comes with a 50-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. On the front, the phone has a 50-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

In good lighting, the main camera captures sharp and detailed photos with natural colours. Dynamic range is also solid, so both highlights and shadows look balanced without making the image look artificial. The ultra-wide camera is good as well. Photos keep a fair amount of detail, and colours stay close to what you get with the main sensor. Since there is no telephoto lens, zoomed-in shots lose clarity after a point, which is something to keep in mind. Now, let’s talk about the portrait mode. Edge detection is accurate, the background blur looks natural, and skin tones come out pleasant and realistic.

Low-light camera performance is one of the highlights here. Photos look bright and clean, with less noise and good sharpness. The phone also controls strong light sources well, avoiding flares.

Realme 15 review: Battery

The Realme 15 does not disappoint when it comes to battery life. It houses a large 7000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging, making it one of the strongest points of the phone. During testing, the numbers were solid. Playing BGMI for 15 minutes dropped the battery by only 4%. An hour of Google Maps drained 5% of the battery, while 30 minutes of Netflix took 4%. In the PC Mark battery test, the phone lasted 21 hours and still had 20% left, which is impressive.

Charging is also fast. The 80W fast charger can take the phone from 0 to 100% in about 64 minutes, which is very good considering the massive battery size.

Realme 15 review: Verdict

The Realme 15 is a mix of strengths and missed opportunities. It gets the basics right with a stylish design, a curved AMOLED display, good cameras, and excellent battery life. These are the areas where Realme has done very well, and for many users, they can be the main reasons to consider this phone.

Where it falls short is performance. The chipset is not as powerful as what you get from other phones in the same price range. The “AI Party Phone” branding also feels like a distraction. Don’t get me wrong, the AI effects are fun to try, but they don’t really add long-term value.

If your main focus is display quality, long battery life, and good everyday photography, the Realme 15 is a solid option. But if you are looking for a phone that can handle heavy gaming or deliver top performance, there are better choices available.
