Meta has announced wider online availability for its Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 smart glasses in India. The product, developed in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica, was earlier launched in May 2025 and sold via Ray-Ban’s website and select optical and sunglass stores nationwide. Now, it will be available starting 21 November through the e-commerce websites. Here are the complete pricing and availability:
So from 21 November, you can buy it from Amazon, Flipkart and Reliance Digital. The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 smart glasses start at Rs 29,900 in India, with pricing varying by frame and lens type.
From today, 6 November, interested buyers can sign up for ‘Notify Me‘ alerts on the three platforms to get early access once sales begin. The move marks Meta’s largest retail rollout for its wearable lineup in India.
The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 smart glasses retain the brand’s signature designs, such as the Wayfarer and Headliner frames, while integrating Meta’s AI capabilities for hands-free use.
Users can interact with the glasses using the voice prompt ‘Hey Meta’ to access information, control features, or take photos and videos without reaching for their phones.
The collection includes options for prescription, sun, polarised, and Transitions lenses, along with a compact charging case. A visible capture LED indicator lights up when the built-in camera is recording, maintaining transparency and privacy.
Meta has introduced several new AI-powered experiences tailored for the Indian market:
Commenting on the development, Sandhya Devanathan, Vice President, India and Southeast Asia, Meta, said the company is on ‘a mission to bring personal superintelligence to everyone, through devices that blend effortlessly into everyday life.’ She added that these glasses deliver ‘powerful AI tools designed to help you stay present, communicate better, and amplify your senses.’
So, with India-specific features like Hindi voice support and upcoming UPI Lite payments, Meta is positioning the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 as more than a lifestyle accessory. Now that it will be widely available, let’s see how popular it becomes in our country.
