Lumio has announced that it is updating its entire product portfolio to Android 14, becoming the first television and projector brand to complete a portfolio-wide rollout. The Bengaluru-based company confirmed that all new Lumio Vision TVs are already shipping with Google TV powered by Android 14, while existing Vision TV users in India get it this month. The Lumio Arc projector lineup will follow soon. This news could matter to both new buyers and existing users of the company’s products, as it shows Lumio is a brand focused on long-term software support.

The Android 14 update is said offer:

  • Up to 50 percent faster out-of-the-box setup
  • Up to 30 percent faster Google Assistant performance
  • Refreshed system interface and unified quick settings
  • New standby power and connectivity controls
  • Option to power on directly to last used input
  • QR-based Wi-Fi sharing for guests
  • Users can complete sign-in by scanning a QR code displayed on the TV, without needing to install additional apps. iPhone users can finish the process using a temporary Google TV App Clip, which reduces friction during first-time setup.
  • New accessibility features including colour correction
  • And come with latest Google security patch

On top of this, you’ll get the familiar Google TV interface.

Sudeep Sahu, Head of Product at Lumio, said the company’s focus is on delivering ‘fast, reliable and long-lasting software experiences’ and that the Android 14 rollout reflects its commitment to continuous improvement and long-term value for existing customers.

In India’s smart TV market, hardware specifications such as panel type, refresh rate and audio output typically dominate marketing conversations. However, software support has increasingly become a concern for buyers, especially as streaming platforms and smart home integrations evolve. Google TV based on newer Android versions tends to offer smoother performance, better app compatibility and improved security.

By moving its full Vision TV and Arc projector lineup to Android 14, Lumio is signalling a software-first strategy. This approach may help the brand build trust in a competitive segment where global and domestic players often compete aggressively on price.

So, existing Lumio users can wait for the phased rollout and as with most OTA updates, availability may vary by model and region during the initial phase.
