Kodak has launched its new MotionX QLED TV series in India, targeting buyers who want a bright QLED TV with Dolby Vision, MEMC-based 120Hz motion handling, and 70W Dolby Audio at mid-range prices. The series sits above Kodak’s earlier 4K LED lineup that launched in September, and aims to offer a more premium experience. Like that series, this one also has a Google TV interface.

  • MotionX 55-inch QLED TV: Rs 31,999

Specifications

The MotionX series is offered in 55, 65 and 75 inches. Each model uses a QLED panel rated for 1.1 billion colours, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 550 nits of peak brightness. This positions it a step above Kodak’s standard LED models and should help with better contrast, richer colours, and improved HDR performance.

Motion handling gets a clear upgrade with 120Hz MEMC (Motion Estimation Motion Compensation), VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode). For users, this means cleaner action scenes and reduced latency while gaming. The TVs run Google TV 5.0, which brings a cleaner UI, faster recommendations, and access to over 10,000 apps and more than 500,000 shows across major streaming platforms. Google TV 5.0 is also lighter on resources, so navigation should feel smoother compared to older Android TV builds.

Audio is handled by 70W Dolby Audio stereo box speakers, supported by Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital. This setup should give the TVs an advantage in living rooms where users often need louder speakers without immediately adding a soundbar.

Connectivity includes Dual-Band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, HDMI and USB ports for consoles, soundbars or set-top boxes. Chromecast and Apple AirPlay support are included. Under the hood, you get the MT9062 processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage, which is typical for the segment.

The MotionX series faces significant competition in the mid-range space. For instance, the starting model faces competition from the likes of Vu GloLED, Philips QT8100, TOSHIBA 55M450RP, TCL 55T6C, and SPPL’s Blaupunkt 55QC7025. But MotionX is a feature-rich offering from Kodak. The jump to 120Hz MEMC, VRR and ALLM is the key addition, making the series more appealing to gamers compared to older Kodak sets that stuck to 60Hz panels. The shift to Google TV 5.0 also matters for reasons given above. On paper, the 70W stereo speaker system is among the loudest in this price bracket and stands out for users who do not plan to buy a soundbar immediately.
