Airtel Rs 399 and Rs 499 recharge plans with unlimited 5G and 4G data
Bharti Airtel has raised the price of its prepaid Global International Roaming pack, making it more expensive for users who travel abroad. The pack, which earlier cost Rs 4,000, is now priced at Rs 4,999. This change means a price jump of almost 25 per cent. It is also the first major tariff hike by an Indian telecom operator in 2026. The revised price is already visible on the Airtel recharge platform and other third-party recharge platforms. While Airtel has not shared an official explanation, the update comes at a time when telecom companies are reviewing pricing across services. The Global Pack remains a long-term option designed for users who need benefits under one single recharge.
Under international roaming, the Rs 4,999 global pack offers benefits meant for regular overseas travel. Users get 5 GB of data that can be used while roaming abroad. The pack also includes 100 minutes for incoming and outgoing calls. These calls can be made to India or to local numbers in the visited country.

In addition to that, the users also receive 100 outgoing SMS, while incoming SMS are free during international roaming. The global pack comes with a validity of 365 days, making it suitable for people who travel internationally multiple times in a year.

Once the recharge is completed, the international roaming benefits activate automatically when the user travels abroad. As per the terms, data, calling, and messaging services stop after the validity period ends, unless the pack is renewed.
There have been no official statements by Airtel explaining the increase in the price of the Rs 4,999 prepaid international plan. However, industry believes that it may be related to a general phenomenon in the market where telecom firms are trying to strengthen their networks for better services in the future. The new price is already live and available for recharge on Airtel websites everywhere.
