Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 to have dual-rear camera setup too?

This comes just a few days after leaked renders suggested that the Mi 5s may also get the same treatment.

Xiaomi may be planning to use a dual-rear camera setup on the successor to the Redmi Note 3. A Weibo user posted two images allegedly showing the Redmi Note 4. One of the images appear to be a leaked teaser, showing one of Xiaomi’s new celebrity ambassadors, Liu Haoran, holding the device, while the other gives us a closer look at the back of the phone. Judging by the images, the phone will not have a fingerprint scanner at the back and will instead have the second camera placed at the same spot. It also seems like the phone will sport a metal unibody design, unlike the Redmi Note 3, which features a metal body with plastic on the top and bottom.

The Redmi Note 4 may not be the only upcoming smartphone by Xiaomi to feature dual-rear cameras. A few days back, leaked renders of the Xiaomi Mi 5s suggested that the company might use dual cameras on its upgraded version of the flagship Mi 5. Last month, the Korea Herald had reported that Samsung was supplying dual-camera modules to Xiaomi, LeEco and Oppo.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has been a very popular smartphone, and recently ranked number one in AnTuTu’s list of the most popular smartphones in India. The company must be hoping that the Redmi Note 4 will also be able to emulate its success.
