Xiaomi is all set to give its premium segment in India an annual refresh with the launch of the Xiaomi 17 series. The company shared the launch date for its new flagship phones in India shortly after the devices were introduced in global markets. The lineup will have two models, notably the regular Xiaomi 17 and the premium Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Both the smartphones are likely to focus heavily on the camera, featuring a Leica-based camera module developed in partnership with Leica. The handsets are also expected to run on HyperOS 3 and be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Elite chipset. Here’s everything we know so far about the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Xiaomi 17.
Xiaomi recently confirmed that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 will make their debut in the Indian market on March 11, 2026. The company updated a poster regarding the launch details on the official Xiaomi India website.
The Xiaomi 17 will likely feature a 6.3-inch 1.5K OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is said to reach a peak brightness of 3,500 nits when used under bright sunlight. Leaks also suggest that the screen supports HDR10+, HDR Vivid and Dolby Vision.

The handset will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Furthermore, it’s also tipped to come paired with up to 16GB of RAM with 1TB of UFS 4.1 internal storage. The Xiaomi 17 is expected to house a 6,330mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging support.
In the camera department, the device will offer a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup, which may include a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. On the front, the handset is said to include a 50MP selfie shooter.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra, in comparison to the standard variant, comes with a larger 6.9-inch AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Under the bright light the device can reach a peak brightness of 1,060 nits. Furthermore, the makers have installed Dragon Crystal Glass 3 to protect the display.
The handset will likely run on Android 16-based HyperOS 3 and is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Along with that, it’s also tipped to feature an Adreno 840 GPU coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
In terms of optics, the smartphone will feature a Leica-tuned triple rear camera system, including a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. At the front, the smartphone is expected to boast a 50MP camera for selfies and video calls.
The device is also said to bag IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, along with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra may house a 6,000mAh battery that is supported by 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. The smartphone is also rumoured to support 22.5W reverse wireless charging.

Reports suggest that the Xiaomi 17 may launch in India with a starting price of Rs 75,000. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, the high-end variant of the device, is expected to be launched with an initial price tag of Rs 1,10,000.
