Spice Mobility launches FLO-TV M-5600 with free-to-air reception

Spice Mobility has launched a budget mobile that features live TV connectivity, with analog signal reception not requiring an active data connection, called the Spice FLO TV M-5600, priced at Rs. 3,099.

The Spice FLO TV M-5600 bears a 3.2-inch 320×240 pixel resistive touchscreen, along with a 1.3MP camera, stereo FM with recording, supports microSD cards up to 8GB. It features a standby time of 2 days, and a talk time of four hours.

The free-to-air analog signal reception means users in India will be able to watch such channels as Doordarshan. The live TV phone features Spice FLO UI, and access to the company’s S Planet app store. Reports quote Kunal Ahooja of Spice Mobility’s, spoke on the launch of the device, saying:

“In this era of convergence, mobile phones are the best medium of displaying the result of integration of technologies. With a revolutionary product like FLO TV – M 5600, we have redefined innovation and turned a new leaf in the mobile handsets industry.”
