Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 foldable devices already come with the One UI 8 update, which is based on Android 16. This update brings improved security, more control for users, refreshed design elements, and several useful features. If you own a device from the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, or Galaxy Z Flip 5, you could be getting the Android 16 update soon.
Currently, Samsung is beta testing One UI 8, and here’s what we know so far about its features, release schedule and supported devices.
Samsung has been actively testing the update through its beta program. The fifth beta version of One UI 8 is now available for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra in India, Germany, the UK and the USA. Owners of the Galaxy S24 series can also try out the beta version.
Although Samsung has not confirmed an exact date for the stable release, leaks indicate that the Galaxy S25 series may get it first, possibly by early next month. The Galaxy S24 lineup and foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 are expected to follow shortly after. By the end of this year, Samsung is likely to expand the stable One UI 8 update to more devices across the Galaxy S, A, and M series.
