Samsung is preparing to introduce its next flagship smartphone lineup, the Galaxy S26 series, at the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event on February 25. The event will be livestreamed for Indian viewers at 11:30 PM IST on Samsung’s official website and YouTube channel. The new series is expected to include three models: Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26 Ultra. If you are planning to purchase the top-end Galaxy S26 Ultra, here’s a simple comparison of how it could differ from the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The peak brightness is expected to go up to 3,000 nits. For comparison, both the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S24 Ultra also come with a 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel and a 120Hz refresh rate. However, their peak brightness is slightly lower at 2,600 nits.
This means the display size and overall quality is expected to remain the same, but the S26 Ultra could offer better brightness.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. It may offer up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 Ultra runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Both these models offer 12GB RAM and up to 1TB storage.
On the battery front, the S26 Ultra is likely to pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 60W fast charging. In comparison, the S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra also feature a 5,000mAh battery but support 45W charging. So, charging speeds could see a noticeable improvement this year.

Camera upgrades on the S26 Ultra are expected to focus more on refinement rather than a big jump in megapixels. The phone may continue with a 200MP main sensor but could get a wider f/1.4 aperture. This should improve low-light photography and help capture more detail at night.
Both the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S24 Ultra were launched in India at a starting price of Rs 1,29,999. Rumours hint that the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to launch with a starting price of Rs 1,34,999.
