Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the successor to ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 is expected to launch around mid-August this year. The smartphone is reportedly codenamed 'Samsung Gr3at' and its prototype has been spotted running Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
A Samsung smartphone with model number SM-N950F has appeared on HTML5Test database, reports Sammobile. The handset believed to be Galaxy Note 8 scored 488 points out of a total 555 on Samsung Internet 5.2 browser. The prototype spotted running HTML5Test reveals that the handset is running Android 7.1.1 Nougat and not Android O beta build.

Google announced public beta of Android O at I/O 2017 and it is expected to be finalised at some point in August. Google has already confirmed that its Pixel smartphones will be the first to get the latest version of Android. It now seems likely that Galaxy Note 8 will debut with Android 7.1.1 Nougat and not Android O.
The Galaxy Note 8 is rumoured to feature a 6.3-inch Infinity Edge display and might be powered by Qualcomm's updated Snapdragon 836 chipset. The handset is also expected to feature dual rear camera setup with support for 3x optical zoom. Samsung will also include new S Pen features to differentiate it stand from Galaxy S8 series.
