Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is set to launch a smartphone on January 10 but the model name of the device is not yet confirmed. While some say it could be the Redmi Pro 2, others say that the upcoming phone will be Redmi 7. Whatever the name may be, we have now got some more information to share on the device. A poster, allegedly of the Redmi 7, has been leaked on the internet and it shows the colour options that the upcoming phone is expected to have.

Leaked by SlashLeaks, the poster shows three colour variants of the alleged Redmi 7. In the poster, we can see black, blue and red coloured smartphones and it seems that the blue and red colours will have a gradient pattern with purple. The poster also confirms the 48MP camera and the announcement date. Contrary to the previous reports, the phone is seen sporting a waterdrop notch with thin side bezels and a thick bezel on the top.

Recently, a news report claimed that the upcoming Redmi device could feature a USB Type-C port. Lei Jun, Founder and CEO of Xiaomi, posted comments on Chinese microblogging platform Weibo asking his followers whether they would like to see a USB-C port on Redmi phones. If Redmi decides to use the new port, it is obvious that the the cost of the device will increase. We have to wait and see what Xiaomi pulls out of its bag.

Further, Redmi could launch three variants of the Redmi 7 series of smartphones. Previously, three models – M1901F7E, M1901F7T and M1901F7C – had received the 3C certification and were listed on the website with a 10W charger. The yet unidentified models of these smartphones are said to be the Redmi 7, Redmi 7A and Redmi 7 Pro because the ‘Note’ and the ‘Pro’ series of the Redmi device lineup have already been launched in the recent past.
