Poco is in the process of rolling out a new update for the Poco F1 smartphone. The July stable update bumps the MIUI version number to 10.3.5.0 and as expected, brings with it a bunch of updates. Most notable being the fact that it brings to May 2019 Android Security Patch. Other changes include a customisable lock screen clock, optimisations to the sorting principles for Wi-Fi Networks as well as a fix for dual apps disappearing after a reboot. The announcement was made on Twitter by C Manmohan, the General Manager of Poco India. He also noted that the roll out will happen in batches. So all users should get the update eventually, if not immediately.

In related news, Poco’s Global Head, Alvin Tse has confirmed that the Poco F1 will get the Android Q update. Tse confirmed the same when replying to a user query regarding Xiaomi’s list of phone scheduled to get Android Q Beta, from which the Poco F1 is absent. To recall, Xiaomi announced a list of 11 of its devices tipped to get the update. Out of the eleven, only the Redmi Note 7 Pro and the Redmi Note 7 are currently available in India, while the Redmi K20 Pro and The Redmi K20 are scheduled to launch in India on July 15.
The rollout of the new update, as well as the promise of Android Q should keep Poco F1 users happy. The company is yet to roll out a Snapdragon 855-powered successor to the smartphone. Initial reports suggested that Xiaomi may rebrand the Redmi K20 Pro as the Poco F2 in India. However, it seems like that won’t be the case. But it should be noted that the Poco F1 was launched in India, and it’s possible that the company may unveil a successor around that time.
