The OnePlus 5 has been launched in India. The smartphone will be available exclusively via Amazon India, priced at Rs 32,999 and Rs 37,999 for the 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM variants respectively. The handset will go on its first sale today at 4.30PM IST.

The OnePlus 5 is an incremental upgrade over the company's best-selling OnePlus 3T smartphone, introduced last year. The handset features a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 platform. The handset comes in two storage options: 6GB RAM variant with 64GB storage and 8GB RAM variant with 128GB storage. The OnePlus 5 sports a metal design like its predecessor and comes in midnight black and slate grey colour options.

The biggest change, however, is the use of new dual rear camera setup. The handset sports a combination of 16MP wide-angle lens and 20MP telephoto lens for improved camera experience. The telephoto lens is capable of 1.6x optical zoom and OnePlus is using smart capture multi-frame technology to offer 2x lossless zoom. There is also a 16MP front camera with EIS for selfies.

The OnePlus 5 is the thinnest flagship yet from the Chinese company and it runs Oxygen OS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The smartphone offers connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and GPS and is backed by a 3300mAh battery with Dash Charge technology. The handset will also be made available offline via pop-up events in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai.
