Android 7.0 Nougat update for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T is being rolled out in a staged manner

OnePlus, the smartphone brand that "never settles," has finally started rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones. At the launch of OnePlus 3T, the company had announced plans to roll out the official version of Android 7.0 Nougat for its 2016 devices, and it's finally available.

OnePlus is rolling out OxygenOS 4.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat, for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. The OTA update is being distributed to OnePlus users in a staged manner. Back in November, OnePlus had started testing Android 7.0 Nougat in beta for the OnePlus 3. The OxygenOS 4.0 update brings new notification design along with a change to the settings menu. The update also adds support for multi-window view and direct reply from notifications.

OnePlus has also added status bar icon options and improved shelf customisation. The company notes in a blog post that the update brings better optimisation to overall operating system and improvements to several key areas. The OTA update will reach a small percentage of users today, and will be incrementally rolled out to a broader set of users in the coming days.

OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T have been the flagship killers this year. The smartphones offer an excellent combination of specifications in the mid-range category. Read our review of OnePlus 3T here.
