New Google search update allows users to send reminders, directions and more from their desktops to Android phones.

Google's new update allows users to send directions, reminders, notes, alarms and much more via Google Search.

Users can simply type in "send a note to my phone" or "send directions to my phone" directly into the Google search bar and a little Google Now-style card will pop up that will let you type in your note or specify the directions to the place you want to go. The internet giant will then send the data to your phone as a notification. Once you receive the notification on your phone, Google Maps will automatically open and users will be able to navigate from their smartphones. Users can also set alarms, send reminders or instantly find the location of their phone directly from the Google search bar on their desktop.

To access this search feature users have to link their Android Phone to Google and install the latest version of the Google app for Android. Another requirement is that users have to enable Google Now cards and notifications. Google states in a help center article, "You can connect your Android phone to Google, which lets you send information from your computer to your phone."

Earlier this month, Google had announced a 'Find my phone' feature that allows users to search for their Android phone via Google search. Users simply have to type “Find my phone,” and Google search will show them exactly where their phone is on Google maps. Users also have an option to ring their phone for five minutes, so that they can easily find it if its anywhere nearby or inside your home.
