According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, writing in his Power On newsletter, Apple’s product roadmap for 2026 and 2027 is on track to be the most productive in the company’s history, with new iPhones, AirPods, AI glasses, iPads, Macs and several entirely new product categories. The pace is significant enough that Gurman frames it as a tailwind for incoming CEO John Ternus, helping establish this level of output as the new normal rather than an exception.
The lineup begins this September with the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which is now being referred to as the iPhone Ultra pending an official name. That launch window is also expected to include the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4.
Beyond the September event, Apple has several other products in the pipeline for this year. Multiple new Mac models are expected, alongside a refreshed entry-level iPad with an upgraded processor capable of supporting Apple Intelligence. Gurman also flags two products that remain uncertain but possible for 2026: the company’s long-rumoured smart home hub and an iPad mini upgraded with an OLED display. The smart home hub is expected to resemble a square iPad-like display, either attached to a half-dome speaker base or wall-mounted, with circular app icons similar to the Apple Watch’s interface and a facial recognition feature that personalises information for whoever approaches it.
A new Apple TV and HomePod mini, both updated with Apple Intelligence support, are described as being in advanced testing and Gurman says he would be surprised if they did not arrive this year. Neither is expected to bring major design changes beyond Siri support and a possible tweak to the Apple TV remote.
Next year marks the iPhone’s 20th anniversary and Apple is expected to start the year with a spring lineup that includes a second-generation iPhone Air, aimed at addressing the most common complaints about the current model through battery life improvements and the addition of a second rear camera.
But the bigger announcements arrive in the fall when Apple is expected to release special 20th-anniversary iPhones, potentially called the iPhone 20 Pro and Pro Max, alongside a second-generation foldable iPhone. New AirPods are also expected, notably featuring built-in cameras designed to feed visual data into Siri AI, extending Apple’s AI assistant beyond voice and screen content into what the device can see in the wearer’s surroundings.
The fall 2027 window is also where Apple’s first smart glasses are now expected to launch, a product that had previously been targeted for the end of 2026 before slipping in Apple’s internal timeline.
Further out, Gurman points to a tabletop robot expected around late 2027 or 2028, described as an advanced evolution of Apple’s smart home display concept with an added robotic arm. According to reports, the device is being designed to behave conversationally, capable of interjecting into a conversation, such as suggesting nearby restaurants when dinner plans come up and engaging in extended back-and-forth dialogue for tasks like trip planning.
Beyond the robot, Apple is also reportedly working on a revamped Vision headset and eventually, a pair of augmented reality glasses, though neither has a defined timeline yet.
