Nokia 2 is expected to be the entry-level Android smartphone from HMD Global. The smartphone is expected to sport a 5-inch display and pack a 4000mAh battery.

Nokia 2, the rumoured entry-level Android smartphone from HMD Global has been listed by a US retailer ahead of its official announcement. The listing reveals that the smartphone could retail for around $99 when it debuts. The handset is expected to be HMD Global's competitor to Xiaomi's Redmi series in India and other Asian markets.

B&H Photo, a US-based electronics retailer has listed the Nokia 2 for $99 (around Rs 6,500). The listing was first spotted by WinFuture. The publication suggests that the USP of the Nokia 2 will be its beefy 4000mAh battery, while the rest of its specifications are almost standard. The handset listed by the retailer comes with model number TA-1035 and will support dual-SIM connectivity. The smartphone will be available in black and white colours.

The Nokia 2 had earlier appeared on a GeekBench listing, suggesting that the Snapdragon 210 chipset has been used here, coupled with 1GB RAM. The smartphone is expected to launch with either 8GB or 16GB internal storage. It has already received FCC certification and is likely to sport a 5-inch display similar to the Nokia 3. And sport a design similar to the Lumia 620.

Like all other Nokia-branded smartphones from HMD Global, the Nokia 2 is also expected to run Android 7.0 Nougat. The smartphone should use on-screen Android buttons as opposed to capacitive navigation buttons found on existing smartphones from the company. There is no word on pre-order or availability just yet, but the phone could go on sale as early as next month.
