MWC 2014: Alcatel Onetouch launches Firefox smartphones

Alcatel Onetouch has released three smartphones running on Mozilla's Firefox OS called the 'Fire' series.

Alcatel Onetouch, the French smartphone maker, has introduced its first lineup of Firefox OS smartphones by announcing three handsets at MWC in Barcelona.

The series called the Fire series, includes the entry-level Fire C, Fire E, and the mid-range Fire S.

The Fire C’s specs include a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage with an expandable memory slot, a 3.5 inch TFT display with 320 x 480 pixels resolution, a 0.3MP camera and a 1300mAh battery.

The mid-range Fire S features a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4.5 inch IPS LCD display with qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution, a 5MP camera and a front VGA camera, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage with an expandable memory slot and a 1700mAh battery.

Both the entry level phones feature Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and support HSDPA (4G) networks.

The top level smartphone of Alcatel Onetouch in the Fire series is the Fire S. It features a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 4.5 inch IPS LCD display with qHD resolution, 8MP rear and 2MP front cameras, 4G LTE connectivity with Wi-Fi.
