Moto X4, the Android One smartphone with support for Google's Project Fi has been delayed due to production issues. The smartphone was expected to start shipping this week and has now been pushed back to a later date. The Moto X4 was launched last month at the IFA trade show in Berlin and the smartphone was expected to begin shipping to those who preordered the device sometime this week.

9to5Google reports that Project Fi emailed the preorder customers last night that a "production delay has impacted the estimated ship date for your new device." The smartphone is delayed by one to two weeks and is now expected to begin shipping sometime between October 18 and October 25. The earliest shipping date available to those ordering the device now is between October 27 and October 30. The regular shipment is likely to start after November 1.

The Moto X4 was expected to launch in India on October 3, but the company cancelled the launch and said that interested customers will have to wait a bit longer. It remains to be seen when the phone eventually launches but it doesn't seem to be arriving anytime before early next month.

After Xiaomi Mi A1, Moto X4 is the second major addition to Android One family. The smartphone features a 5.2-inch full HD display and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 630 chipset. It's a mid-range smartphone with 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. The Moto X4 gets a dual rear camera setup with 12MP standard lens and another 8MP wide-angle lens similar to the LG G6. It offers a 16MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture and dedicated LED flash. It supports a front-mounted fingerprint sensor, stock Android 7.1 Nougat and non-removable 3000mAh battery. It is priced at €399 (approximately Rs 30,500) in Europe.
