Moto E4 to launch in India soon at approximately Rs 8,500, reveals Mumbai-based retailer

Moto E4 and E4 Plus, the budget Android smartphones from Lenovo-owned Motorola, are expected to launch in India soon. Moto India has been teasing the launch of a new smartphone for some time and now a prominent retailer has revealed that the Moto E4 will launch in the next few days.

In a now pulled down tweet, Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom claims that the Moto E4 will be in stock in one or two days. The tweet first reported by Gadgets360 also suggests that the handset could be priced around Rs 8,500. Motorola is also expected to launch the Moto E4 Plus with a big battery in India soon.

With the Moto E4 series, the company could adopt a marketing strategy similar to the Moto C and Moto C Plus smartphones. The Moto E4 could be an offline exclusive smartphone, while the E4 Plus could be launched in partnership with an online retailer. The Moto E4 and E4 Plus were officially announced for global markets a few weeks back.

In terms of specifications, the Moto E4 and E4 Plus differ in terms of the display, memory, camera and battery capacity. The Moto E4 features a 5-inch HD display, while the E4 Plus sports a larger 5.5-inch HD display. Both the handsets are powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 chipset. The Moto E4 and E4 Plus offer 2GB RAM and 3GB RAM respectively, with a standard internal storage of 16GB.

The Moto E4 features an 8MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, and LED flash. The E4 Plus offers a slightly better 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, and LED flash. Both the devices offer a 5MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. The Moto E4 is backed by a 2800mAh battery, while the E4 Plus gets a larger 5000mAh battery. Both devices run the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS and will be available in grey, gold and blue colour options.
