Micromax has launched Dual 5, its first smartphone with a dual-rear camera setup. The handset is priced at Rs 24,999 and will be available starting April 10 from Flipkart, Micromax e-store and other retail channels. The Dual 5 is the first launch from Micromax in a long time and the company claims to have been working on the device for more than six months. The company has started prebookings for the handset on its own website.

The Micromax Dual 5 features a 5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Powering the device is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 652 processor coupled with 4GB RAM, 128GB storage and support for external storage up to 128GB via microSD cards. Micromax says that the Dual 5 is built out of a single slab of aircraft-grade aluminium and supports 3D Antenna technology for better signal reception.

The highlight, however, is the new dual-rear camera setup with two 13MP Sony IMX258 sensors. One of the sensors is used for capturing RGB data, while another one takes monochrome shots. The dual sensors are enabled by default and offers different modes like bokeh, low-light, slow shutter and monochrome. The rear camera is also capable of shooting 4K videos. The front camera is a 13MP Sony sensor with f/2.0 aperture lens and soft-light flash. The front camera also comes with different beautification option appealing to selfie fans.

Micromax Dual 5 sports a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The smartphone also comes with security features like separate space for personal and private data. The company says the Dual 5 has an independent security chip based on military-grade EAL 5+ security for securing password and user data. The Dual 5 houses a 3200mAh battery and comes with Quick Charge 3.0 support, which the company claims can charge the device to full in just 45 minutes. The handset comes with 1-year replacement warranty and the company has also announced a 24-hour service promise.
