Reports suggest that the LG G5 may come with a secondary display similar to the V10 and a ‘Magic Slot’ which may be used to expand the hardware capabilities of the phone

The LG G5 could come with a secondary display similar to the one found on the LG V10. Sources have told VentureBeat that LG’s upcoming flagship will come with a small 160 x 1040 pixel display alongside the primary 5.3-inch QHD display. It is also speculated that this secondary display will be one of LG’s headline features across its lineup in 2016. Another interesting feature mentioned by the report is a ‘Magic Slot’. This slot may allow users to attach peripherals to expand the hardware capabilities of the phone. This could include audio amplifiers, physical keyboards and more.

VentureBeat’s report also says that the the LG G5 will come with a dual camera configuration on the back which will let the primary 16MP camera take 135 degree wide-angle pictures. The device may come with dual-LED flash as well as a RGB sensor to help with autofocus. At the front may be an 8MP camera. It is possible that the phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC with 3GB of RAM. The report also stated that the phone will have 32GB of onboard storage, but it was still unclear if LG will equip the phone with a microSD card slot. The device may come with a 2800mAH battery, which is slightly smaller that the 3000mAh battery located on the G4. In addition, there may be a fingerprint sensor located just below the rear camera similar to the Nexus 5X, which was manufactured by LG.

Recent reports have suggested that the LG G5 will comes with an all-metal body and will be launched in the first quarter of 2016. Last week, a leaked image purported to be of the LG G5 showed a dual camera setup at the back along with rear facing physical buttons and a metal body. If the LG G5 is powered by a Snapdragon 820 SoC, then the company may not be able to launch the device in the first quarter of 2016. This is because Samsung may have the exclusive rights to the Snapdragon 820 SoC till April 2016.
