The Nokia 9 smartphone may come with a dual front-facing camera setup which supports Full HD video recording.

A recently surfaced FCC documentation of the upcoming Nokia 9 smartphone revealed that the device will come with a 5MP front-facing camera setup. This was a letdown as Nokia 8, the company’s current flagship, comes with a 13MP selfie camera, however, folks at XDA Developers noticed that the 5MP Chicony CKACE16 front camera sensor module mentioned by the FCC is listed as a dual camera on the manufacturer’s website.

The Chicony Electronics website reveals that it’s front camera module is equipped with two 5MP+5MP sensors. They will support 1080p video recording along with autofocus. One of the dual sensors has f/2.0 aperture, whereas the other one comes with a f/2.4 aperture lens.

Coming to the specifications, the FCC listing revealed Nokia 9 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC instead of the latest Snapdragon 845 chipset. Qualcomm recently announced their Snapdragon 845 platform with Xiaomi confirming that their upcoming flagship will be powered by it. Also, previous rumours suggest that the entire first batch of the Snapdragon 845 SoC was bought by Samsung for their upcoming Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus smartphones.

The Nokia 9 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch QHD OLED display and sport a 12MP + 13MP dual rear camera setup. It might sport 128GB of expandable storage and is rumoured to pack  a 3,250 mAh battery. The device is tipped to come with Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the box and a recent report suggested HMD global will reportedly unveil the Nokia 9 on January 19.
