HIGHLIGHTS

LeEco sold engineering models of the Le Max Pro, in limited quantities, at CNY 1999.

The LeEco Le Max Pro smartphone has been launched in China. Interestingly, while limited units of the device were put on sale, the units were actually not consumer models. LeEco seems to have sold engineering models to customers, at a price point of CNY 1,999 (approx. Rs. 20,000). This of course means that the final pricing of the phone is not known at the moment. The Le Max Pro though becomes the first Snapdragon 820-powered smartphone to be sold to customers anywhere in the world.

Apart from the Snapdragon 820, the Le Max Pro is a flagship class device, that has 4GB of RAM, a 6.33 inch QHD and a 21MP rear camera. In addition, the device also boasts an ultrasonic fingerprint sensors, along with a USB Type-C port and is powered by a 3400 mAh battery. Android Marshmallow is the OS of choice. The LeEco Le Max Pro could be coming to India in the second quarter of the year, as we reported earlier.
