Apple is still months away from launching the iPhone 17 series. However, rumours about the next iPhone 18 and 19 have already started doing rounds on the internet. A latest report has shed light on the iPhone 19 design, which could debut in 2027. The purported handset may get a design overhaul with a bezel-less display, an under-display front camera, and fingerprint sensors. The new design is said to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the iPhone in 2027, with Apple finally offering a major design overhaul.

While official details remain under wraps, here’s what we know about Apple’s plan for iPhone 19.

iPhone 19 to ditch notches or cutouts for selfie camera

According to recent reports, at least one model launching in 2027 may come with an edge-to-edge display to mark the 20th anniversary of the first iPhone launch. To achieve this, the company is said to drop the notches and cutouts and opt for under-display selfie cameras and Face ID systems. The reports stated that it is most likely to be for high-end models- iPhone 19 Pro and iPhone 19 Pro Max.

The report also suggests that Apple could introduce under-display Face ID on iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The smartphones speculated to debut in 2026, may sport a small hole housing the front camera. The design overall could serve as a stepping stone toward the bezel-free display for the iPhone 19 models.

Meanwhile, Apple is likely to drop the Plus models from the iPhone 17 lineup. The tech giant is reportedly working on a lighter iPhone 17 Air with just 5.5mm thickness. There are no official details on it. However, rumours have suggested that the new iPhone could pack a 4,000mAh battery, single camera sensor, one speaker and e-SIM connectivity only. Additionally, the standard iPhone 17 is expected to get a 120Hz display- a significant improvement from a 60Hz display.
