Google’s much-awaited Pixel 9a is expected to make its debut earlier than expected, with a possible launch in March 2025. This is a significant change from the usual May launch window for Google’s A-series phones. Leaks indicate that the Pixel 9a will bring a mix of premium features and powerful hardware. Google is reportedly planning to open pre-orders for the Pixel 9a on March 19, 2025. Shipping and availability in stores could begin as soon as March 26, marking a shift from the usual Google I/O event in May.

In the US, leaks suggest the Pixel 9a will start at $499 (roughly Rs 42,000) for the 128GB storage variant. There could be a 256GB model as well, priced slightly higher. If Google follows its traditional pricing strategy in India, we can expect the Pixel 9a to be competitively priced, making it a strong contender against the rumoured iPhone SE 4, which is expected to launch in April.
The Pixel 9a is expected to come with a 6.28-inch display with a peak brightness of 2,700 nits and HDR brightness of 1,800 nits. The display will likely be protected by Gorilla Glass 3 for durability. As for the design, it is expected to feature a compact form factor, with the familiar A-series design that includes a dual-camera setup on the back.

The Pixel 9a is expected to house a dual-rear camera setup, consisting of a 48MP primary camera and a 13MP ultra-wide lens.
Under the hood, the Pixel 9a will likely be powered by the Tensor G4 processor, offering smooth performance for gaming, AI tasks, and daily usage. The device might also pack 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a Titan M2 security chip for enhanced privacy.
The Pixel 9a is expected to pack a 5,100mAh battery that supports 23W wired charging and 7.5W wireless charging.
