BlackBerry Aurora Android smartphone leaks online

BlackBerry Aurora is expected to be a mid-range Android smartphone, which might be exclusive to the Indonesian market

BlackBerry is trying to make a comeback in the smartphone market with new tieup. The company has already announced  the BlackBerry KEYone, which was developed in collaboration with TCL Communications. Now, the company could be launching a new smartphone in tieup with Indonesia's PT BB Merah Putih.

According to a leaked image, PT BB Merah Putih-made BlackBerry smartphone named 'Aurora' could make its official debut soon. The device has appeared in renders before and now its official press image have leaked. According to TechieState, the smartphone will be an entry level offering only for Indonesian market.

The smartphone reportedly features a 5.5-inch 720p display, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The handset may get Qualcomm's Snapdragon 425 chipset and a 3000mAh battery. The smartphone will be the first dual-SIM smartphone from BlackBerry. BlackBerry has signed brand licensing deal with TCL Corporation to sell handsets everywhere except Indonesia, India, Bangladesh Sri Lanka and Nepal.

The company has signed a contract with New Delhi-based Optiemus Infracom for selling BlackBerry-branded smartphones in India and was listed on an Indian retailer's website priced at Rs 39,999. The KEYone is the last smartphone to be designed in-house by BlackBerry and it is not yet known if or when the smartphone will officially launch in the country.
