With all eyes on iPhone 16, Apple might secretly be working on a new iPad mini
Apple is gearing up to launch a new iPad Mini soon, and it may bring several small but important updates for users who prefer a compact tablet. The device is likely to feature a fresh OLED display that offers better picture quality and a smoother viewing experience for everyday use. It may also come with improved cameras and better battery life, along with a design that stays close to previous models. Leaks also suggest that it may house the A20 Pro chipset and sport up to 512GB of internal storage. Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming Apple iPad Mini.
The upcoming iPad Mini will reportedly launch with an 8.7-inch display with OLED technology. Furthermore, it may also come clubbed with a 60Hz refresh rate. The device will also come equipped with a ProMotion display. While the previous models are available with a dual stack LTPO panel display, the new iPad Mini will have a single stack LTPS display that will be relatively darker than its peers.
If the leaks are accurate, the tablet may be powered by the A19 Pro chipset, similar to what is expected in the Apple iPhone Air. This chipset is built on the upgraded third-generation 3-nanometre N3P technology. Nevertheless, there is also a possibility that the next Apple iPad Mini will use the A20 Pro chip. According to the rumours, the tablet should have 8GB of RAM and support up to 512GB of internal memory.
Regarding connectivity, it is expected that the next Apple iPad Mini will support Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and the Apple C1X cellular modem. Concerning the design of the device, it is expected that it will look like its predecessors and keep the same compact size.
As for the cameras, the tablet is rumoured to be equipped with a 12MP main camera and a 12MP front-facing camera. The product will probably bag an IP rating for water resistance. Moreover, the absence of holes in the speaker can protect the tablet from moisture.
While the company has not yet shared any official details about the upcoming iPad Mini, leaks and rumours suggest it may launch later this year or in the first quarter of 2026. Early reports also indicate that it could be priced around Rs 55,000. However, these are only preliminary estimates, and the final pricing may change at the time of launch.
