Apple iPhone Ultra tipped to debut in one colour variant: Specs, launch timeline and more

HIGHLIGHTS

Apple's first foldable iPhone has appeared in new leaked images, showing a refined design and a possible white-only colour option.

The device is expected to feature a foldable display, slim design, powerful chipset, and upgraded cameras.

Apple may launch the iPhone Ultra in September 2026 with a premium price tag of around Rs 2 lakh.

Apple’s first foldable iPhone has surfaced again through a new set of highly detailed dummy units, giving the clearest look yet at what could be one of the company’s biggest product launches in years. The latest dummy model of the device has been recently shared by a tipster online, and it appears far more refined than earlier versions. The image that surfaced online also points to a design that may now be close to final. While dummy units are non-functional devices, they often provide an accurate preview of the final hardware. The latest images not only highlight the foldable iPhone’s overall design but also hint at an unexpected move from Apple on colour choices. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming Apple iPhone Ultra.

Apple iPhone Ultra: Colour (Tipped)

Tipster Sonny Dickson recently shared the image of the dummy iPhone Ultra, Apple’s first foldable device. According to the tipster, the foldable iPhone currently appears only in white, raising the possibility that Apple may launch the device in a single colour option. Moreover, the claim also matches recent reports from other tipsters who suggested Apple could avoid bold finishes for its first foldable smartphone. If the rumours are true, then it would not be a shocker, as it’s not the first time Apple has taken a limited colour approach for a major new product category. Apple previously did the same with iPhone X and Apple Watch Ultra.

Apple iPhone Fold: Specs (Expected)

The leaked dummy unit also supports several design rumours that have been surfacing online for the past few months. The device is expected to keep a book-style foldable design, as we previously reported when the CAD designs for the smartphone surfaced online. The smartphone is also said to launch with a 5.5-inch outer display and a larger 7.8-inch inner OLED screen. Reports also suggest the device could feature an ultra-thin 4.5mm titanium frame.

The return of Touch ID is also anticipated as Apple plans to ditch the Face ID mechanism to keep the device slim. The new images also show an edge-to-edge cover display, a redesigned microphone layout, and a front camera positioned in the top-left corner of the inner screen.

The Apple iPhone Ultra will likely draw its power from the Apple A20 Pro chip under the hood. Moreover, it may get clubbed with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. A vapour chamber cooling system is also tipped to be present in the device.

In terms of optics, the device can be seen having a dual horizontal camera setup at the rear end. It may house a 48MP main sensor along with a 48MP ultrawide camera. At the front the smartphone is said to feature a 24MP punch-hole camera on the cover screen and a 24MP under-display camera on the inner tablet display for selfies and video calls.

Apple iPhone Ultra: Launch timeline and price (Expected)

Reports indicate that Apple is targeting a September 2026 unveiling of its first foldable iPhone. The device is expected to debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The smartphone is expected to be priced around Rs 1.75 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. However, the official pricing will only be revealed at the time of launch.
