When Apple launched the iPhone 17 Pro models in a punchy orange colour, I was very sceptical about it. I thought why would anyone go for such a loud-looking iPhone? But I was clearly wrong. The colour turned out to be surprisingly popular, and it seems that a strong response is now shaping what comes next.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is testing a new deep red colour for its upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models. The move comes after the success of the orange variant, which reportedly performed well. That popularity appears to have encouraged Apple to experiment with more expressive colours for its high-end devices rather than sticking only to safe shades.

There is still some uncertainty about how Apple will position the new shade alongside the existing orange variant. Even though red and orange sit close to each other on the colour wheel, the company may decide to keep both. Some of the previously rumoured purple and brown finishes are said to be variations of the same red concept rather than entirely new colours.
While the Pro models could get a bold new identity, Apple is reportedly taking a much more conservative approach with its first foldable iPhone. According to Gurman, the device will likely launch in classic, understated colours such as dark grey, black, and white/light silver.

As per leaks, Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 18 Pro series between September 3 and September 10, 2026. In India, the iPhone 18 Pro could start at around Rs 1,34,900, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max is likely to be priced at around Rs 1,54,900.
