Apple is expected to introduce its next generation of flagship smartphones, the iPhone 18 series, in September this year. Although the official launch is still a few months away, several leaks have already started revealing what the upcoming models might offer. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to arrive with upgrades in areas such as performance, display quality, and camera capabilities. Here is a closer look at how the two models could differ based on the current rumours.
One of the most noticeable differences between the two models will likely be the display size. The Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to feature a 6.9-inch display. Meanwhile, the iPhone 18 Pro could come with a slightly smaller 6.3-inch screen.
Despite the difference in size, both phones are likely to share similar display technology. Leaks suggest that the screens may support a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness.
On the camera front, both models are expected to have a very similar setup. The phones could feature a 48MP main camera, along with a 48MP periscope telephoto lens and a 48MP ultra-wide camera. For selfies and video calls, Apple is expected to include a 24MP front camera on both devices.

Under the hood, the iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone 18 Pro are expected to be powered by Apple’s upcoming A20 Pro chipset. Both phones may come with 12GB of RAM and offer storage options of up to 1TB.
Details about the battery capacity are still unclear. However, the larger Pro Max model will most likely include a bigger battery than the Pro version.
