Apple is reportedly preparing to launch its next iPhone lineup, and if the rumours are true, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will be a major step up from previous models. Apple fans are buzzing with excitement over possible new features, design changes and improved performance that could make this phone stand out. There’s even talk that Apple will rename this model the iPhone 17 Ultra.
While Apple has not yet confirmed any details, leaks and reports have given us an idea of what to expect from the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Here’s what we know so far about this phone.
Apple is expected to follow its usual launch pattern. So, the tech giant will most likely reveal the iPhone 17 Pro Max in September 2025, alongside the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air and iPhone 17 Pro.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumoured to come with a 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it could be powered by the yet-to-be-announced A19 Pro chip, paired with 12GB of RAM. It is expected to run on iOS 19, which will likely bring smarter Siri capabilities.
On the camera front, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to house a 48MP triple camera setup on the back. For selfies and video calls, a 24MP front camera is expected. Furthermore, this phone is said to feature a vapour cooling chamber, and pack a 4,685mAh battery.
A big change could come in the phone’s design. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to feature a horizontal camera bar like Google’s Pixel phones. The LiDAR sensor, microphone and flash are expected to be aligned on the right side. Apple might also switch from a titanium frame to an aluminium one.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max could launch in India at around Rs 1,44,900. Keep in mind that all this information comes from leaks and rumours, so it’s best to wait for Apple’s official announcement.
