Apple has released the first public beta versions of iOS 26.2, iPadOS 26.2, tvOS 26.2, and watchOS 26.2, giving users a chance to test upcoming features before the official launch. The public betas arrive just two days after developers receive their versions.
Anyone interested in trying the new updates can sign up for Apple’s beta testing program through the company’s official beta website. Once registered, the updates can be downloaded directly from the Software Update section in the Settings app on each device.
One of the most noticeable new features in iOS 26.2 is the Liquid Glass slider for the Lock Screen. According to MacRumors, this tool allows users to adjust the translucency of the clock, giving them more control over how the Lock Screen looks. It’s a small change, but it adds a new level of personalisation to the iPhone experience.

In watchOS 26.2, Apple has refined the Sleep Score feature by updating how the score is labeled and calculated. The new system aims to provide a more accurate reflection of overall sleep quality.
Another highlight is the expansion of AirPods Live Translation, which is now available to users in the European Union. This feature allows real-time language translation through AirPods. The Reminders app also gets a useful upgrade. Users can now set an alarm to go off exactly when a reminder is due.

Beyond these changes, iOS 26.2 includes updates to several other Apple apps, such as Podcasts, Passwords, and Freeform.
Meanwhile, Apple is also working on a much larger update for its Siri voice assistant. According to a recent report, Apple plans to partner with Google to use a custom version of Google’s Gemini AI model. The deal, expected to cost Apple around $1 billion per year, would help power the delayed version of Siri. The upgraded Siri is expected to debut in spring 2026 as part of iOS 26.4.
