Android Nougat update rolling out for Sony Xperia XZ

Sony has announced that it is rolling out the Android Nougat v7.0 update to the Xperia XZ smartphone. The company says that the new update will bring a number of new features such as multi-window support and a new Messaging app. The multi-window support will allow users to run two apps simultaneously and switch between each by double tapping. The new Messaging app will let users share audio as well as videos. Further, the company notes that the update will offer a longer battery life. The update is being rolled out in a phased manner.

The Nougat update for the Xperia XZ comes just a few days after the company started rolling out the update for the Xperia X Performance. To recall, The Sony Xperia XZ was launched in India a few months back at a price of Rs. 51,990. It features a 5.2-inch Full HD display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC with 3GB of RAM. It also features a 23MP rear and 13MP front camera, and offers 64GB of inbuilt storage. The device is also water resistant and is equipped with a 2900mAh battery.
