Just a day after reports emerged that Amazon had silently rolled out its Amazon Appstore for Android worldwide, Amazon has withdrawn the applications store from the newly added countries. Reports say the app store is now not accessible from India and any attempt to access Android app store meets “this service is not available in your country” message.

Given the absence of any official word on the launch, it is being said that the service had mistakenly gone live across the world. It’s notable that no local Amazon sites had links for Amazon Appstore and that most of the users accessed it from the main website. Moreover, Appstore for Android going global is certainly a major news and that Amazon would have officially announced it.

Earlier, multiple reports emerged stating Amazon Appstore for Android had gone live in countries outside the US, including India, the Netherlands and UK. Amazon Appstore for Android was available via http://www.amazon.com/app-email on Android devices. Check out our previous coverage here.
