MacBook Pro M4 no longer selling on Apple website

Apple’s official website is no longer selling the M4 MacBook Pro and the company has replaced it with the new M5 laptop. If you head over to Apple’s website right now, you will see only three chipset options to choose for the 14-inch MacBook Pro – the newly-launched M5, M4 Pro and M4 Pro Max.

The price of the M4 Pro model starts at Rs 1,99,900, offering a strong balance of performance and efficiency for demanding everyday tasks. For those who want top-tier power, the M4 Max variant starts at Rs 3,19,900, unlocking even greater capabilities for intensive workflows like 3D rendering, video editing, and AI-based applications.

Meanwhile, Apple’s new 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the M5 chip has been launched at the same price as the M4 MacBook Pro. The new laptop costs Rs 1,69,900 in India and students can get a huge discount on the laptop, grabbing it for Rs 1,59,900 only.

So, incase you need your MacBook Pro urgently and can’t wait till it gets delivered, it makes sense to just pre-order the MacBook Pro with M5 chip.

MacBook Pro M5: Top specs and features

Now, let’s talk about what the new MacBook Pro has in store. The M5 chip powering the device comes with a 10-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine, and faster unified memory – all designed to make AI tasks seamless. According to Apple, AI-driven workflows like image generation, text-to-image creation, and local LLM processing will now be much faster on-device.

The new MacBook Pro also runs on macOS Tahoe, which introduces a cleaner design, more customisation options, and deeper integration with Apple Intelligence. You’ll get features like Live Translation in FaceTime and Messages, and smarter automation through Shortcuts.

Coming to battery life, it is another big highlight. Apple promises up to 24 hours on a single charge, which is massive for a Pro laptop. It even supports fast charging, promising to juice up to 50% in just 30 minutes when paired with a 96W or higher USB-C adapter.

On the display side, the laptop comes with a 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR panel, offering up to 1600 nits of peak HDR brightness. The laptop also features a 12MP Center Stage camera, a six-speaker system with Spatial Audio, and a bunch of connectivity options. Apple also says that they have doubled down on sustainability as the new MacBook Pro uses 45% recycled materials and is manufactured with 55% renewable electricity.
