Updated on 06-Jan-2026

Samsung has just unveiled the Galaxy Book6 Ultra, Galaxy Book6 Pro and the Galaxy Book6 laptops at the CES 2026 and this marks what the brand calls its “most advanced Galaxy Book lineup so far”. The new series focuses on a familiar Samsung formula which has been refined further. The laptops promise a high-end performance and deeper AI integration in a slimmer, more polished design.

Won-Joon Choi, President, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of the R&D Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics said in a press release, ‘At Samsung, we believe true innovation starts with getting the fundamentals right. Performance defines the PC experience. With the Galaxy Book6 series, we combine unparalleled speed and power with dependable AI to deliver the exceptional productivity and creativity capabilities users expect from Samsung.’

Samsung introduces Galaxy Book6 laptops at CES 2026

The Galaxy Book6 series laptops are powered by the new Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, built on Intel’s 18A process. The Galaxy Book6 Ultra also features discrete graphics, featuring Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 or 5060 Laptop GPUs. This makes it Samsung’s most powerful Galaxy Book to date, aimed squarely at creators, editors and users who want serious graphics performance alongside a portable form factor.

Samsung has also paid close attention to thermals. For the first time, the Galaxy Book Pro models use a vapor chamber cooling system, while the Ultra variant gets a larger redesigned chamber, improved airflow and quieter fans. The company claims cooling efficiency is up by around 35 percent compared to the previous generation, helping sustain performance during heavy workloads.

Samsung says the Galaxy Book6 Ultra, Galaxy Book6 Pro and Galaxy Book6 will go on sale in select markets starting late January 2026 in Grey and Silver colour options. A Galaxy Book6 Enterprise Edition aimed at managed IT environments will follow in April 2026 in certain regions.

Now before we take a detailed look at what each laptop has to offer, let’s quickly go through the newly-launched Intel Core Ultra 3 processors unveiled at CES this year.

About Intel Core Ultra series 3 processors

Intel officially pulled the curtain back on its Core Ultra Series 3 processors, positioning them as the backbone of the next generation of AI-powered PCs. This is Intel’s first compute platform built on the new Intel 18A process, described by the company as the most advanced semiconductor technology it has ever manufactured in the US.

Intel says Series 3 is designed with a clear focus on power efficiency, stronger CPU performance, a significantly upgraded integrated GPU and far more on-device AI compute. The top mobile SKUs introduce a new Core Ultra X9 and X7 class, offering up to 16 CPU cores, 12 Xe-cores for Intel Arc graphics and up to 50 TOPS of NPU performance. According to Intel, that translates to as much as 60 percent better multithreaded performance, up to 77 percent faster gaming and battery life stretching close to a full workday and beyond, depending on the system.

Further, Intel says that the platform will power over 200 PC designs across price segments, including the Galaxy Book6 Ultra. Keep reading to know all about the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra and other laptops from the lineup.

Galaxy Book6 Ultra: Built for creators and power users

The Galaxy Book6 Ultra sits at the top of Samsung’s new lineup and is clearly aimed at users who want desktop-grade performance in a portable form factor. It is powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, including the new X9 and X7 variants, paired with an NPU capable of up to 50 TOPS for on-device AI workloads. The laptop also comes equipped with an optional NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 or 5070 Laptop GPU, making it the most powerful Galaxy Book yet for video editing, 3D work and gaming.

Samsung has also gone all-in on thermals here, with a larger vapor chamber, a dual-path outlet fan and redesigned heatsinks to keep performance stable under heavy loads. The 16-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X touchscreen pushes brightness up to 1000 nits with adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz, while a six-speaker Dolby Atmos system with force-cancelling woofers handles audio. Despite all this hardware, the chassis remains slim at 15.4mm and promises up to 30 hours of video playback with fast charging support.

Galaxy Book6 Pro: Slimmer design promising premium performance

The Galaxy Book6 Pro is positioned as the balanced premium option, available in both 14-inch and 16-inch sizes. It shares the same Intel Core Ultra Series 3 platform and AI capabilities as the Ultra but relies on integrated Intel graphics, making it better suited for productivity, creative work and everyday professional use rather than heavy GPU tasks.

For the first time, Samsung has brought a vapor chamber cooling system to the Pro series, promising to improve sustained performance while keeping fan noise in check.

Both sizes feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X touch displays with high brightness, anti-reflective coating and adaptive refresh rates. The 14-inch model prioritises portability at just 1.24kg, while the 16-inch version offers a larger canvas and expandable storage.

Galaxy Book6: The mainstream option

Available in 14-inch and 16-inch variants, the standard Galaxy Book6 runs on Intel Core Ultra 5 and 7 processors with built-in NPUs for on-device AI tasks. Unlike the Ultra and Pro, the Galaxy Book6 uses IPS displays instead of AMOLED, offering WUXGA resolution and 350 nits of brightness in both touch and non-touch options.

This model is for users who want modern AI features without stepping into premium pricing. While it lacks the advanced cooling and display tech of its siblings, the Galaxy Book6 still promises a clean design, solid battery life and deep integration with Galaxy AI features, making it a practical entry point into Samsung’s 2026 laptop lineup.
